One of these days I need to scrape and refinish the frame, too.

As a bonus, here’s a weird/cool bug that watched me paint:

Considerably less nasty than the typical big-meaty-spiders I tend to find in the garage.

As a final note on the speedometer side of things, I pulled out the old driven gear from the trans (to install the as-close-as-I-can-get-in-the-right-size driven gear) and discovered it’s actually the one I need - which is also the smaller size. It was chewed up and otherwise had very bad wear consistent with a super loose mesh. Go figure.
